No. 79 is a new development of two and three bedroom apartments on Hampstead’s prestigious Fitzjohn’s Avenue. Inspired by the Victorian mansion block style and Hampstead’s rich architectural heritage, award-winning architects Sergison Bates has designed No.79 as two mansion blocks connected by a ground floor entrance lobby.

This development had a particularly complex sub-structure, the site being located on a slope and the structure consisting of lower ground floor, as well as two levels of basement. Extensive temporary propping supports brought extra challenges. However FIS were pleased to support Woodmace Structures, Sergison Bates and MLM Consulting Engineers with the design of the structural waterproofing and gas-proofing.

FIS were chosen to supply this project, thanks to the performance of the unique  Combi-Seal membrane which provides effective protection from water under hydrostatic pressure, and ground gases in accordance with BS8485:2015. FIS were able to produce a design which covered the use of Combi-Seal, Hydrocrete Watertight Concrete, Hydroflow Cavity Drain and Epocote MMA-F liquid waterproofing.
