Brent Council granted full planning to build a 1,750-pupil secondary school in Wembley, North London. The £26m Ark Elvin Academy forms part of the £65m Brent batch of the Government’s Priority Schools Building Programme.

The building was constructed in the shadow of Wembley Stadium, on a sloping site which meant that there were a number of retaining walls requiring full protection, as well as other challenging interfaces associated with building on a sloping site.

FIS designed the waterproofing using Maxiprufe 2000 Waterproof Membrane and Hydrocrete Watertight Concrete, as well as a host of other components.
