EcoBuild 2017: Regenerating Structural Waterproofing

Although it seems like a long time ago now, Ecobuild 2017 only closed its doors Thursday 9th March 2017. We really enjoyed exhibiting at Ecobuild for the first time and we met lots of really great people.

The Ecobuild Event

With over 30 000 visitors, Ecobuild attracts many different types of people from Architects and Engineers to Project Managers and Homeowners. At FIS, we were proud to have been included on stand A158 and already cannot wait until next year’s event! The overriding theme of Ecobuild 2017 was regeneration – clearly an important issue. The event focused on answering the following; how can we reuse and extend the life of the different parts of our lives which make up the world we live in?

Extending the Life of Structural Waterproofing with Design

At FIS, we provide waterproofing designs to enable otherwise unsuitable underground spaces to become useful and habitable. By creating new space underground – especially in our cities – certainly, helps us as a global community to better use the space we have and to increase the efficiency of our cities. This is even more critical when we consider the ever rising demand for space, FIS help to create high-quality underground spaces for homeowners and for Architects working on behalf of property owners.

For FIS, Ecobuild has been truly beneficial not only for its regeneration focus but also because of its location at the Excel centre in London – the largest event space in the capital! It was also important as there were many design and construction professionals attending this event: The Institute of Civil Engineers, the Concrete Society and the Basement Information centre were also all presenting, advising and speaking there. Thus it was crucial for the FIS design team to be there to pick up on, hear about and to be able to implement the latest trends, moves and directions being taken in the industry.

The FIS Team at Ecobuild

Glenn Tuffin – Technical Director, Emma Jobling – Business Development Manager and Greg Fidler – Marketing Manager all attended the stand as did Daniel Devenish – Sales Manager and Clive Tuffin – General manager to be on hand for technical advice and help with any queries relating to basement waterproofing and basement waterproofing.
