Basements are a great way of increasing the viability of a scheme or enhancing an existing property. There is an increasing demand for underground space for a variety of uses ranging from car parks and storage to leisure facilities and living accommodation, these unique underground spaces can only be useful if they are successfully keeping out the water which inevitably surrounds them.
FIS work as designers and consultants to help create these watertight and dry underground spaces. We understand contracting, we understand waterproofing and we understand how important it is to get the design right first time.
We are able to take on design liability and provide a lead in the design element of Structural Waterproofing; however, we don’t stop at the design stage, our technical teams are able to follow the project through from concept and design stage to the installation stage. Quality of installation is of paramount importance to us and we provide free and unlimited site support to ensure the installation is as good as the design. Getting the installation right can be the tricky part and yet it is definitely the most important part of producing a watertight underground structure.
We work strictly in accordance with the British Standard for waterproofing BS8102:2009 and we also work within the guidelines of other published guidance by bodies such as CIRIA, ICE and NHBC.
