This waterproofing project was for a new development of new apartments on Blackbird Hill in Wembley.
The new five-story reinforced concrete and steel frame residential building was built on the site of an old pub. The building was designed with under-croft parking and plant rooms.
FIS worked with the construction team to help design a waterproofing system which would meet all the criteria set by the engineer and be easy to install.
Henry Construction Projects installed Bentofix BFG, a Type A membrane to the underside of the under-croft slab. Once construction of the under-croft half basement was complete, Hydroflow HP was installed as a secondary barrier to ensure the structure is completely watertight.
As well as designing a suitable system, FIS were able to regularly attend site and inspect the installation of the membrane and provide quality control checks and advise throughout the construction process. This meant a guarantee could be issued at the end of the project.
